I have a 52 inch lg plasma screen tv, and I know I am getting a blu ray player. Ive seen blu ray on 1080p and it’s great, but how will my 720p stack up to it?

Compared to standard def – it is a huge step up.

Just watch some standard def TV station tonight for about 20 minutes. Then mid-show switch to the HD version of the channel. This will show you the difference between standard def and HD. (It should be pretty obvious).

If you can spend a bit more – go for a BluRay player with network connection and “Apps” like NetFlix. People predict the future will be streaming so you may as well get this in the same box.
