Fantastic TV for the money!

This is a fantastic TV for the money. Crisp, bright picture. Solid build quality. Clean and attractive design. Good remote control makes it easy to switch between inputs.
HD channels look as good as they do on my high priced plasma. I also have my MacBook hooked up to the TV as a second monitor using the DVI out with a DVI/HDMI converter and it works PERFECTLY. If I had a need for it, I'd buy another one of these in a heartbeat.

I never write reviews, but this tv is excellent. I have verizon fios connected to it. The picture is incredible. When you watch football, you will feel like you are on the field playing yourself.
The sound is also excellent. The best part is why I love this tv so much.
It's about 300- 400 dollars cheaper than most other sets. I should say inexpensive because another thing about it is it doesn't look cheap.
It looks great.............. buy it !!!

This tv for the price is what HDTV is all about. The picture and sound quality are unbelieveable, you wont regret the purchase, and for the price (Its 1080p!) Stop reading this and buy it.

We bought this TV because CNET rated Vizio as the top budget brand. We have not been disappointed!!!
We have the 1080i model (has since been replaced by 1080p). The TV picture is very clear. The screen has no problems with glare, despite being next to a large window. The sound is excellent (and I'm hard of hearing!).

The newer models of the tv come with 3 HDMI connections, which is awesome. There are also plenty of other connections available. We have the cable box, dvd, and computer hooked up to the TV, and could hook up at least 3 or 4 more things! Everything interfaces with the TV perfectly, the resolution is excellent.

The TV is also very lightweight, which is great for dusting! The TV is very attractive looking and we get lots of compliments on how it looks, and how clear the picture is. I would recommend this to anyone!
Very Good Value

This is a very good value at the 20% lower price available at a national warehouse retailer. Excellent picture, which is what really counts. Even does a pretty good job with SD signals. Good selection of video inputs that are easy to use on the back and left side, unlike some sets that require a contortionist to locate the rear inputs. I find the sound from the internal speakers poor, although others seem to think it's OK. Onscreen menus are unattractive, but they get the job done. The remote seems very cheaply constructed and not particularly well designed, although it does make it easy to select input sources. However, the remote is made of lightweight, glossy black plastic. Why are equipment manufacturers so taken with glossy black that they put it on a piece of equipment that is always being handled and is instantly covered with fingerprints. Really stupid. The "hint of brown" in the screen bezel is almost too subtle to tell, and it gives the bezel a slightly muddy appearance. Here's where a simple glossy black would have been a better idea. However, I find the overall cabinet design attractive, unlike most Vizio models which I have thought were fairly ugly. This model is also unusually light for a 37" set - under 30 pounds and quite easy for one person to move around. If this were going to be my primary set, I might look for something a little more expensive and better designed and constructed. However, for a secondary set, this is a good value with an excellent picture, and Vizio seems to be building a reputation for decent reliability.
Some problems out of the box but still pretty good

Pros:

1. Price/Value (got it for $525 brand new on Ebay)
2. # of inputs
3. pretty good audio

Cons:

1. Layout of remote isn't too good
2. Power cord is ridiculously short
3. The VIZIO icon in the middle of the tv stays illuminated after turning the tv off! I find this to be very annoying!
4. The color black on this tv isn't dark enough.

Misc. Issues

- My tv had (2) dead pixels. Not noticeable while actually using the tv, but they are there. Was advised by tech support that they only replace/repair the LCD tvs if they have (5) or more dead/stuck pixels.

- My major problem with the tv is (and I'm not sure whether it is just mine or with this model in general) is screen uniformity. The top right, bottom right and bottom left are all very visibly brighter from the light that powers the LCD screen. Keep in mind that I watch tv in an almost completely dark room so this kind of thing would be amplified especially when the screen is black or watching a widescreen movie. I'm in the middle of making a claim with Vizio for this problem and pending their approval I will have a technician come out to fix the problem.

The TV is not the problem but if you have a problem don't count on the company to make it right.
We bought our TV in Dec 2009 A few weeks ago it stopped working, they sent a tech out who replaced a board in the TV.
It worked ok for two days and then started acting up again. After sending pictures of the screen and talking to several reps
we were told that they would replace it with a refurbished one but not a new one. If however the refurbished one has problems
they would replace it with a new one. I don't beleive that this was right for a TV that should still be under warranty. I don't think vizio stands behind it's products
Good picture but missing feature.

Very nice picture but was disapointed when I tried to activate the TV guide feature. After three days of e-mails to tech support was informed that this feature had been deleted on current models. What a pain, even my $49 converter box had this feature.

Remote control is hard to use with one hand as TV channels are on the bottom and fall under the palm of
your hand when held.
very disapointed

purchased this product for my 81yo father who is dealing with chemo/radiation and lives 500 miles away. set was problem from get go. diagnosed over phone as problem with remote and new one sent out. in the interim cable guy came out to install hd box and determined problem was with set not remote. vizio sent out technician who confirmed set problem. vizio refused to pick up and deliver new set
