HD channels look as good as they do on my high priced plasma. I also have my MacBook hooked up to the TV as a second monitor using the DVI out with a DVI/HDMI converter and it works PERFECTLY. If I had a need for it, I'd buy another one of these in a heartbeat.
The sound is also excellent. The best part is why I love this tv so much.
It's about 300- 400 dollars cheaper than most other sets. I should say inexpensive because another thing about it is it doesn't look cheap.
It looks great.............. buy it !!!
We have the 1080i model (has since been replaced by 1080p). The TV picture is very clear. The screen has no problems with glare, despite being next to a large window. The sound is excellent (and I'm hard of hearing!).
The newer models of the tv come with 3 HDMI connections, which is awesome. There are also plenty of other connections available. We have the cable box, dvd, and computer hooked up to the TV, and could hook up at least 3 or 4 more things! Everything interfaces with the TV perfectly, the resolution is excellent.
The TV is also very lightweight, which is great for dusting! The TV is very attractive looking and we get lots of compliments on how it looks, and how clear the picture is. I would recommend this to anyone!
1. Price/Value (got it for $525 brand new on Ebay)
2. # of inputs
3. pretty good audio
Cons:
1. Layout of remote isn't too good
2. Power cord is ridiculously short
3. The VIZIO icon in the middle of the tv stays illuminated after turning the tv off! I find this to be very annoying!
4. The color black on this tv isn't dark enough.
Misc. Issues
- My tv had (2) dead pixels. Not noticeable while actually using the tv, but they are there. Was advised by tech support that they only replace/repair the LCD tvs if they have (5) or more dead/stuck pixels.
- My major problem with the tv is (and I'm not sure whether it is just mine or with this model in general) is screen uniformity. The top right, bottom right and bottom left are all very visibly brighter from the light that powers the LCD screen. Keep in mind that I watch tv in an almost completely dark room so this kind of thing would be amplified especially when the screen is black or watching a widescreen movie. I'm in the middle of making a claim with Vizio for this problem and pending their approval I will have a technician come out to fix the problem.
We bought our TV in Dec 2009 A few weeks ago it stopped working, they sent a tech out who replaced a board in the TV.
It worked ok for two days and then started acting up again. After sending pictures of the screen and talking to several reps
we were told that they would replace it with a refurbished one but not a new one. If however the refurbished one has problems
they would replace it with a new one. I don't beleive that this was right for a TV that should still be under warranty. I don't think vizio stands behind it's products
Remote control is hard to use with one hand as TV channels are on the bottom and fall under the palm of
your hand when held.
